Affordable Web Design in Seattle
A published price, an itemised scope, and a build you can hand to any developer afterwards without apologising for it.
Covering Downtown, Capitol Hill, Ballard and the rest of King County.
Seattle buyers read the spec, so we publish one
Seattle has roughly 755,000 residents as of 2023 and an unusually high proportion of them can read a technical proposal properly. That changes the sales conversation. In most markets a web design quote is a single number with a paragraph under it, and the buyer has no way to test whether it is reasonable. Here, the buyer’s brother-in-law is a staff engineer at a cloud company and will absolutely be asked to look at it.
The result is a market where vagueness is expensive. A quote that says “custom website, discovery included, $18,000” invites exactly the question it cannot survive: custom compared to what, and discovering what? Agencies that price this way in King County spend most of their time defending the number rather than building the thing.
We would rather skip that. The price is published, the scope is itemised, and the deliverable is a repository you could hand to an in-house engineer on day one without a migration project. If you have ever inherited a site where the previous vendor held the hosting account hostage, you already know why that last clause is worth more than a homepage animation.

The line items, and what each one actually costs
Basic plans start at $1,000. That is the entry number and it is the same number a business in Spokane sees. There is no King County multiplier, because the work is identical and a premium priced off your address is a premium priced off nothing.
Page count is the dominant variable. Five pages and thirty pages are not the same job scaled — they are different information architectures. A thirty-page build with a page per service and per neighbourhood needs a navigation system, an internal linking plan, and a content model. That is where most of the budget goes on larger projects, and it is worth knowing before you ask for it.
Integrations are the second variable. A CRM handoff, a booking system, payments, or a job-management platform with an awkward API each add real hours. A well-documented REST endpoint is an afternoon. An undocumented one that a vendor supports by email is a week, and we will tell you which one you have before we quote it.
Content is the third. If you write it, it costs nothing. If we write it, budget roughly $150 to $300 per page depending on how much research it needs — a technical services page for an aerospace supplier is genuinely more work than an about page.
The hidden cost of a low-bid build is the rebuild. A $500 site typically arrives with no conversion path, a page weight that fails on mobile, and a proprietary page builder that cannot be exported. Eighteen months later you are not upgrading it, you are replacing it, and you pay the full price again having spent a year and a half sending traffic to something that did not convert. The cheapest site is the one you only buy once.
Payment. Normally half at start and half at launch, and we will split it further on a larger project if you ask. It is a routine request.
Built for Seattle’s main industries
technology and cloud computing
aerospace
maritime and logistics
King County’s commercial base runs heavily on technology and cloud computing, aerospace, and maritime and logistics. Each changes what a site has to establish before anyone makes contact.
Technology and cloud. If you sell to Seattle software companies, your site is being evaluated by people who build interfaces for a living. Load time, semantic markup, and whether your documentation link actually goes anywhere are read as signals about your engineering discipline. A slow, bloated marketing site from a technical vendor is a contradiction the visitor notices immediately.
Aerospace. Supplier relationships here are governed by certification, tolerance, and traceability. The site’s job is to make qualifications findable in one screen — what you are certified to, what materials and processes you handle, what volumes you take. Procurement engineers are not browsing; they are checking a list.
Maritime and logistics. Buyers are operational and time-poor. Coverage area, capacity, hours, and how fast someone answers the phone decide the enquiry. Design sophistication is close to irrelevant next to whether the contact number is visible without scrolling on a phone at a terminal gate.
Neighbourhood context matters too. A South Lake Union firm selling to funded startups and a Ballard trades business selling to homeowners are competing in different search behaviours entirely, and the same page structure will not serve both.
What is included
- Custom design, built from your content rather than dropped into a theme
- A build you own outright — code, repository, domain, hosting account, analytics, all in your name
- Mobile-first and speed-budgeted, because Seattle local search happens on a phone on a bus in the rain
- One obvious next step per page: call, quote request, or booking
- Forms wired into your CRM, with the delivery actually tested against a real inbox
- Conversion tracking configured and verified firing, not just installed
- Every existing URL redirected, so a rebuild does not discard search equity you already earned
- Plain-HTML output an in-house engineer can extend without learning a proprietary builder

How the project runs
Audit
We review what you have now and where enquiries are being lost. You keep the findings either way.
Scope
Fixed price, fixed deliverables, and a launch date, all in writing before work starts.
Build
Design, build, tracking, and follow-up wired together and tested end to end.
Launch
Redirects mapped so you keep your rankings, every form and phone link checked by hand.
On results: we publish no case studies with round-number percentage lifts and an anonymous client. They cannot be checked, which is precisely why they read so well. Ask on a call and we will walk through real projects with real context, including the ones that underperformed and why.
What we will put in writing: a fixed price against an agreed scope, a launch date, conversion tracking that demonstrably fires, and a monthly report short enough that you actually read it. The full process is here, week by week.
Questions from Seattle business owners
How much does web design cost in Seattle?
Basic plans start at $1,000. The number moves with page count, integrations, and whether we write the content. It does not move with your zip code — our pricing is the same nationally, and we would not know how to justify a Seattle surcharge if we charged one. Full breakdown here.
Do you have an office in Seattle?
No. Our office is in Salt Lake City and we work with Seattle businesses remotely — video calls, shared documents, and a scheduled launch date. We do not list addresses we do not occupy, so we would rather say that plainly here than have you find out later.
Can our in-house developers take over the site after launch?
Yes, and that is the point of building it the way we do. You get the repository, the hosting account, and the analytics property in your own name. There is no proprietary builder to license and no vendor lock preventing a handover. If your team wants to extend it in month three, nothing stops them.
Why is affordable web design so much cheaper than the agency quotes we are getting?
Because you are not funding the overhead attached to those quotes — the account layer, the office lease, the discovery workshops that produce a slide deck. The technical work that decides enquiries is load speed, a clear conversion path, correct local signals, and working tracking. Those are baseline competence rather than premium features. A larger budget genuinely buys original photography, custom illustration, and complex application work; it does not buy a faster page.
